The mystic land of India, Uttar Pradesh is a treasure-trove of fascination attractions. Taj Mahal

The most famous attraction of Uttar Pradesh is the incredible Taj Mahal, a mausoleum which is a symbol of eternal love. An architectural wonder, Taj Mahal is carved in white marble. Located in Agra city, Taj Mahal is the pride of India and an example of the finest Mughal architecture. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is affectionately dubbed as the "jewel of Muslim art in India". Built in 1653 by thousands of skilled artisans and craftsmen, it is a World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Each of the structure of this monument has its own unique beauty. Agra also boasts of Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikiri which are also the World Heritage Sites.


It is the holiest and the oldest city in the world. Highly revered, it is an important religious destination of Hindus. Also known as Banaras, this holy city of India attracts devotees and tourists from far and wide. It is located on the banks of river Ganga( the holiest river of India). Ayodhya, Mathura and Sarnath

These three places are among the holiest destinations of India. Ayodhya is the place where lord Rama took birth, Mathura is the birth place of Lord Krishna and Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.

Wildlife of Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is rich in bio-diversity and is a home to several wildlife sanctuaries and National Parks. Some of the wildlife sanctuaries are Hastinapur wildlife sanctuary, Kishnapur wildlife sanctuary, Chambal sanctuary,  Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary, Kaimoor Wildlife Sanctuary, Mahavir Swami Wildlife Sanctuary, Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary, Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary and Nawab Ganj Bird Sanctuary.

Kumbh Mela

Kumbh Mela is the most famous festival of India which is held four times every twelve years in Uttar Pradesh. It is the largest religious gathering in the world. It is considered the holiest Hindu pilgrimage where devotees come from far and wide.

A variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes are served in Uttar Pradesh. However, sweets like Petha, Peda and Gazak and Rewri are the specialties of this state. Don't forget to taste them.
